Dear Parents,
After the holiday break, players in all categories returned to training this week to continue their training development. We noticed the absence of a number of players due to heath and extended holidays reasons. We would  like to welcome all the new families starting their football journey with Mongo Football.

Players were able to reconnect with their training environment while having fun with their friends. The weather however continue to be a challenge as we experienced on Wednesday. Fortunately we train on an all weather surface. The winter competition will continue this weekend provided grounds are open given the amount of rain we had over the last 3 days.

Term 3 Parents Meeting:

Our term 3 parents meeting will take place on Wednesday July 27th at the training centre at the cafe next to the top tennis courts.

4.45-5.15pm (Mini Mongo – Pre Academy & Advanced Pre Academy)

6.6-30pm (Academy & Advanced Academy).A great opportunity for parents to find out more about the program, future opportunities and your child progress.

Looking forward to seeing everyone there.

See you on Monday.

Cheers

Cyrille

SOCCER NUTRITION: PREPARING YOUTH SOCCER PLAYERS FOR GAME DAY

FOOD IS A POWERFUL PERFORMANCE ENHANCER.

Solo athletes (such as runners) are keenly aware of the personal benefits that come from fueling their bodies wisely.

Team athletes, however, may feel less inspired to eat wisely, in part swayed by team meals that might focus less on nutrition and more on fun foods. Nachos and wings, anyone?

Hence, soccer coaches may find it hard to enroll all their athletes in responsible fueling. Yet the soccer team that fuels wisely will have an edge over the team that eats a sub-optimal sports diet, particularly when traveling to tournaments.
